I continue writing my posts here after a long, long time. Puppies and stray dogs are a mere and common sight in the streets of Chennai. And our college has hordes of them. You can see numerous cute pups and dogs wandering around simply. They have no proper home, no timely food given nor proper treatment (by the looks of certain dogs which almost give you a nauseating feeling). These dogs do actually have a home, the college itself. But not one which they can count on forever. Someday or the other the authorities may have them chased out and then they would have to wander outside the college. You may tell there is no major difference. But there is one small difference. As long as they are inside the college, students and even employees find time to feed them and caress them and give them a feeling of love and happiness. You can't be sure of them getting the same treatment from people outside the college. Can you?
I find many puppies now near my department. Must accept that they are really cute and adorable :-) . And the surprising thing is that now many people are crowded near the department just to have a look at those adorable creatures and maybe feed and caress them. You should see the puppies. I bet they enjoy every minute being pampered like that by so many people. Naughty ones, sleepy ones and damn lazy ones. You would find all kinds of puppies here. One always keeps sleeping and hiding. The result is that it is the smallest puppy among the group and cutest too. One likes eating always and has become so fat within maybe 2 weeks. One is quite decent enough to share its food. Another likes to even grab food from the rest. They do adorable actions and some tricks. Yawn adorably too. And you should see them run around in circles around you. Maybe even chasing you. So cute. You would want to keep caressing it for the whole day and that pampered pup loves to be caressed too always :P.
But there joys may be short-lived too. Sorry no hard feelings but just a thought. How long can they always live unprotected. If someone takes a pup away to their home and takes better care, well and good. It would have found a better and also a true home. They can't keep wandering around. People vary. I have been talking about how many people like these pups. Many may even find them a nuisance and call the concerned authorities and order them to be taken off. We may not even know what became of them. I sincerely hope that some people come forward to take them to their homes and take better care rather than leave them so unprotected.P.S : You may wonder why I did not come forward to help. Strict family and strict colony members. They won't understand. In future I do hope I get to help.
